Creating a Positive Culture in Your New Agency

It felt appropriate that our first update is about the importance of creating a positive culture in your new creative agency.

Is this thing on?

It felt appropriate that our first update is about the importance of creating a positive culture in your new creative agency. We want to put our words where our mouths are or instead write the words that back up the actions we'll be taking from today hereto forward at Hiveminded.

We've established agencies in other parts of the world and maintained the same ethos and dedication to making it a place where people want to be and contribute. We offer a hybrid working environment, but even with the lure of working from home, our mates make their way to the office because we like each other and enjoy working together.

Here's how we do it.

We establish a clear set of values and objectives that define our creative agency's culture and provide a framework for decision-making and behaviour.

We communicate these values and objectives to all employees and reinforce them through our actions and behaviours every day.

We create a collaborative and inclusive environment where people feel valued, supported, and heard.

We enjoy regular team-building activities, encouraging open and transparent communication across all levels of the agency. We want everyone to be free to share their ideas and recommendations.

Everyone adopts a growth mindset that fosters continuous learning and a growth culture. You are encouraged to develop skills and expertise and take on new challenges and responsibilities.

We provide training and development opportunities, encourage people to pursue new experiences and learn from others, and support employees in following their personal and professional goals.

We want you to know how awesome you are by recognising and rewarding you for your contributions and achievements.

We're not shy when saying, "Great job." Sometimes, it's a formal recognition, such as office accolades or promotions, or informal, like a pat on the back saying thank you for your efforts and acknowledging your successes.

We want you to be the best version of yourself, so we provide opportunities for career development and advancement.

We have formal and informal mentoring to prepare people for a more prominent role in the agency. We want to support you as you pursue your personal and professional goals.

We check in to see how you're doing. Positive agency culture is always fluid; we need feedback to keep flowing in the best directions. We might check in with an employee survey or group and solo feedback sessions to ensure we're living up to our promise of being a kick-ass place to spend part of your weekdays.

We enjoy the weekends. Weekends are essential, and so are quitting time and holidays. While other creative agencies chase industry awards, we're more concerned with our people.

When you're here, everyone puts in the work to get the job done, but we respect and appreciate quitting time and especially enjoy our weekends and holidays.

We like to celebrate. We will celebrate successes and completed deadlines; we'll even celebrate a random Tuesday in February because February needs more celebrations.

We want our office to be an enjoyable and positive experience. Your career with Hiveminded should be fulfilling so you can achieve your personal and professional goals without the stress and burnout that's typical in too many creative agencies.

At Hiveminded, we're looking to fill several roles with talented people who want to work in an agency with a positive culture where people are respected and encouraged to be their best selves.
